Susanette's enormous personality, dedication, and love for the Puerto Rican culture is the reason Sofrito Rico has become a staple in the Las Vegas community. Susanette was born and raised in Carolina, Puerto Rico. She moved to Las Vegas when she was 16 years old. Her love for cooking started when she was a young girl while helping her (Abuela) Grandmother prepare and cook food every night. The recipes used today at Sofrito Rico are the same ones she used growing up in Puerto Rico cooking, while dancing and singing Salsa in the kitchen. 
Sofrito Rico first opened in 2015 by Susanette and her husband Jason. The restaurant immediately became a popular place for people to enjoy an authentic taste of Puerto Rico. Since opening, Sofrito Rico has become Best of Las Vegas Gold Winners for 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and has been featured on various media outlets. There are plans to expand in the near future.
